Just a quick note to let you know how successful the teaching platforms have been in our lessons. They are so easy to put into and take out of the pool, you can even put them in half way through a lesson without disturbing the lesson; it only takes one leisure attendant to do the job. My swimming teachers have found the platforms a huge improvement with helping the smaller pupils with their swimming. At our facility the shallow end of the pool is 0.9m and if the pupil was smaller than that, we had to have a parent in the water to assist. Since having the platforms we have eliminated the need for a parent in the water which helps enormously with gaining the child's water confidence. The teachers also use the platforms to help with surface dives and helping the more timid children with jumping off an object into the water, thus helping them to progress to jumping off from the side of the pool. I just wish that our facility had purchased the Kirby Swim Teaching Platforms many years ago.

This purchase (KS Teaching Platform) has really helped with the youngest element of swim classes. Our freeboards were restrictive in young children gaining water confidence but with the KS Teaching Platform this has been resolved. As we are the first to get the KS Teaching Platform in the UK we had a bit of a wait for it to be delivered but Kirby Swim were great keeping us updated as to when the platform would arrive etc. If you have a pool with freeboards and offer parent & child/tots swim lessons then get a Kirby Swim Teaching Platform

Nunawading Swimming Club has been using the Swim Islands for over a year now and I would just like to let you know how well the KS Teaching Platforms have worked for us. Our Aquatic Centre was redeveloped last year and the 50m pool was deepened from 0.9m to 1.2m at the shallow end. This was going to affect our learn-to-swim program for school aged children dramatically. We purchased four platforms in mid 2004 and they are used 8 hours per day. The KS Teaching Platform has enabled us to conduct a quality learn-to-swim program in deeper water. The kids feel very safe on the island and they stand at eye level with our teachers.
